The SubSurface Instruments LD-18 is a digital water leak detector designed to locate leaks quickly and accurately, even in noisy environments. Its all-digital amplifier features automatic noise reduction to filter out transient sounds such as passing vehicles and foot traffic, making it highly effective for use in populated areas.
The LD-18 stores and graphs sound levels at different locations along a pipeline, helping pinpoint the exact leak location by identifying peak noise levels. It includes five high-frequency filters, three low-frequency filters, and two notch filters to remove continuous ambient noise from sources like motors, A/C units, and wind.
The large LCD screen shows a bar graph and numeric sound intensity reading, and a USB connection allows for data download. Designed for use on streets, sidewalks, and utility infrastructure, the LD-18 comes with a padded case, stereo headphones, ground mic, 3-section rod, magnet base, and more. It is powered by four C-cell batteries, offering up to 24 hours of continuous use.
