The Enigma 3 Hybrid Leak Correlation System combines standard vibration-sensing loggers and hydrophone-equipped loggers in one package, giving water utility crews two methods for locating leaks in buried water pipelines. The system includes three standard loggers for detecting acoustic vibration at the outside of the pipe and three hydrophone loggers for detecting pressure waves directly within the water column. This allows operators to select the appropriate sensing method based on pipe material, pipe diameter, monitoring distance, and field conditions.

Both logger types are programmed and analyzed through the same host software platform, which processes recorded data and displays pipe sections, logger positions, and calculated leak locations graphically. Standard and hydrophone loggers are used as separate three-logger sets and are not intended to be mixed during the same correlation run. Each setup supports up to three correlations per run, while overnight recording and three sample periods help identify continuous leak noise and reduce confusion caused by temporary water usage.
