The Schonstedt u-LOCATE Transmitter is designed to improve pipe and cable tracing by applying a controlled locating signal to buried metallic utilities. Operators can connect directly to an accessible line, use an inductive clamp, or transmit inductively from the surface. Direct and accessory connection modes support 33 kHz and 82 kHz, while induction mode operates at 82 kHz..

The transmitter provides up to 1 W of output power in Boost mode, with a maximum output voltage of 23 V RMS and a maximum output current of 66 mA. The unit is powered by four D-cell batteries and provides up to 40 hours of use in standard direct connection mode. Its IP54-rated casing, compact size, and accessory socket support regular use with u-LOCATE and u-LOCATE+ locating systems.
