The PL-TT Pipe and Cable Locator from SubSurface Instruments is a multi-frequency device that uses SSI’s most sophisticated locating technology in an affordable package, making it perfect for first-time locators. Some of its cutting-edge features are the push-button digital depth and the ability to function as a magnetic locator. It has a user-friendly design and rugged construction with carbon fiber housing sealed against the weather.
Receiver: The PL-TT Receiver has 4 locating modes including 512Hz sonde and ferrous metal detection mode which only detects ferrous metals containing iron. It can also be dialed in to minimize interference. You can measure depth automatically using the push-button digital depth or manually using triangulation. As standard, the unit is equipped with 4 active frequencies: 815Hz, 8kHz, 33kHz, and 82kHz. This ensures successful detection even in the most complicated environments. The receiver features a rugged design with an LCD screen showing relative and actual signal strength, as well as a speaker for variable audio pitch. It uses 8 “C” alkaline batteries that can run for 30 hours of continuous use and 60 hours of intermittent use.
Transmitter: The transmitter can apply signal using transmitter induction, coupler induction, and direct connection. It uses automatic impedance matching from 5 ohms to 25,000 ohms with 3 watts of output power to maximize the transmission range while reducing power consumption. The transmitter runs on 6 “AA” cell batteries that can last for 8-15 hours of continuous use depending on usage.
With advanced locating technologies, rugged construction, and user-friendly design offered in an affordable package, the PL-TT SubSurface Locator allows professionals to finish challenging locating tasks accurately and efficiently.
