The Schonstedt Spot Magnetic Locator provides a lightweight, straightforward solution for locating buried iron and steel objects. Designed for operators who use a magnetic locator periodically, the slim stick-style housing and one-handed membrane controls make it easy to carry, operate, and adjust in the field. Common applications include locating survey markers, property pins, curb boxes, iron valves, manhole covers, septic tank handles, steel drums, pipe joints, and well casings.
Schonstedt HeliFlux® sensors detect disturbances in the Earth’s magnetic field created by ferrous objects. The locator does not respond to aluminum, brass, or copper, helping reduce interference from nearby nonferrous materials. Its audio signal changes in frequency as the magnetic field strength increases or decreases, allowing the operator to identify and center the buried target without a visual display.
Five preset gain levels range from extra low to extra high, giving the operator control over sensitivity for different target sizes, depths, and site conditions. The Spot remembers the last gain setting used and communicates gain changes through a progression of audio beeps. Its high-impact ABS body, aluminum sensor tube, IP54-rated protection, and waterproof lower section support use in demanding outdoor environments. A soft carrying case and sling are included for easier hands-free transport across rough terrain.
