The Schonstedt Rex Transmitter is a compact multi-frequency signal source for tracing buried water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications utilities. Its 512 Hz, 33 kHz, and 82 kHz operating frequencies support conductive connection, inductive coupling, and inductive clamp applications. This flexibility helps operators apply an appropriate signal based on the utility type, access point, and required locating distance.
The transmitter delivers up to 5 W at 512 Hz and 33 kHz and up to 1 W at 82 kHz. Its low-profile housing measures 10 inches wide by 10.25 inches deep by 1.75 inches high and weighs 3.5 pounds. The rechargeable NiMH battery provides approximately eight hours of intermittent use, while the built-in smart charging system simplifies recharging. An IP54 rating helps protect the transmitter from dust and water during field use.
