The Schonstedt MPC-Rex Combo Kit combines magnetic locating and pipe and cable locating in one field-ready system. It includes the GA-92XTd Magnetic Locator for detecting buried iron and steel objects, along with the Rex Multi-Frequency Pipe and Cable Locator for tracing underground water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications utilities. The complete system is designed for utility professionals who need both locating methods available without carrying separate kits.
The GA-92XTd features a retractable design that extends for greater sensitivity and folds down for easier transport. It provides four gain levels, three volume settings, a four-segment battery indicator, and approximately 24 hours of intermittent operation. The Rex receiver supports 512 Hz, 33 kHz, and 82 kHz active frequencies, 50/60 Hz passive power detection, and 512 Hz sonde locating. It offers depth capability up to approximately 19 feet in line mode and 5 to 15 feet in sonde mode, depending on the sonde and site conditions.
Two transmitter variations are available. The standard MPC-Rex includes a rechargeable multi-frequency transmitter with output power up to 5 watts at 512 Hz and 33 kHz. The MPC-Rex Lite uses a lighter 1.9-pound transmitter powered by ten AA batteries and is available in dual-frequency configurations. Both kits include IP54-rated locating equipment and fit into a custom shoulder bag for transport between jobsites.
