The Radiodetection C.A.T4+ and Genny4 Kit provides a combined solution for detecting, tracing, and estimating the depth of buried pipes and cables before excavation. The C.A.T4+ can detect electromagnetic fields from loaded power cables, radio signals traveling along buried utilities, and signals applied by the Genny4 transmitter. Its four locating modes support rapid utility avoidance, line tracing, and depth estimation, while StrikeAlert® and Dynamic Overload Protection™ help improve operator awareness in shallow or electrically noisy locating conditions.
Genny4 expands the system by applying a stronger and more controlled locating signal to buried conductive pipes and cables. Operators can connect directly to the utility, use a compatible signal clamp, or induce a signal from the surface. Its simultaneous 33 kHz and 131 kHz output in direct and clamp modes helps locate a wider range of infrastructure, including small-diameter cables that may be difficult to detect passively. The transmitter also includes selectable Standard and Boost levels, simple push-button controls, battery and Boost indicators, and an IP54-rated housing for field use.
